Meet Marine and her vegan choices in Les Carnets de Marine
Hi everyone, I'm Marine, vegan for 4 years, passionate about fashion, my life as a mum, and globetrotting at heart. I write about all my adventures on my blog Les Carnets De Marine, where I enthusiastically share my travels, my recipes and my passions. And I share my great product finds on my My Trendy Colibri concept store, where you can find a whole host of items from small French designers who are vegan, organic, zero waste and eco-responsible.
Today I'd like to share with you my 5 vegan and ethical essentials for a great summer.
Sun creams for the skin
Summer means sun. And I never fail to protect my skin, face and body of course. It's vital to prevent sunburn and premature skin ageing. I preserve my sun capital as much as possible by choosing a cream with SPF 50 from the 1st exposure. And while I'm at it, I turn to environmentally-friendly, organic and vegan products, like those from Eq Love.
Sun spray for hair
We generally think about protecting our skin from the sun, but rarely our hair. Yet hair is just as vulnerable to the heat, the salt of the sea and the chlorine of swimming pools. It can become dull and dry, leading to the familiar ‘straw’ effect. The sun's UV rays are very bad for our hair, and if you want to keep it healthy this summer, it's important to use good hair protection. And rather than buying a ready-made spray full of chemicals, why not try a simple DIY using only natural products? Here you'll find a super-simple, vegan and ultra-effective recipe for making your own little sun spray.
A pretty swimming costume
Let's move on to fashion, and of course summer means swimwear! There are loads of brands offering superb models. But it's not so easy to find ethical and even vegan brands on the market. Fortunately, there's She Told Me, a beautiful brand that's entirely vegan, and that advocates feminism and naturalness. Beautiful values transmitted by this pretty Spanish brand!
Fine, elegant jewellery
In summer, there's nothing better than accessorising your little evening outfit with pretty jewellery. And I'm particularly keen on fine jewellery, which allows you to tan without the risk of white marks on your tan ;-) That's why I love Les Mots Doux jewellery, which is also entirely handmade in France.
A pair of vegan summer shoes
Let's finish with my last essential for going out on a summer's evening: a pretty pair of heels. Personally, I'm a fan of wedges, which I find feminine, elegant and stylish with any outfit. What's more, they're stable and comfortable to wear. And the ones I particularly like to wear are by Nae, made from pinatex (pineapple leather), an eco-friendly and 100% vegan material.
