Kindness to Animals
Every NAE shoe is made without animal-derived materials, and our vegan approach is PETA-Approved Vegan certified at brand level. In 2025, we donated €1,000 to Animal Save and Care Portugal and continued to sponsor Rosa, a rescued pig.
A Healthy Planet
We use vegan, recycled, bio-based and certified materials where technically appropriate — including AppleSkin, Piñatex, cork and recycled PET — and our packaging is plastic-free. Through ZeroPact, we track product-related emissions and support verified climate-compensation projects; through our Pre-Loved programme, 400 pairs were resold, 200 donated and 150 recycled in 2025. These are estimates, not a full corporate carbon inventory — see our methodology and current limitations in the Sustainability Report 2025.
Ethical Practices
Our nine-person team works with pay above the legal minimum, 25 days of annual leave, and a zero-tolerance policy on discrimination and harassment. We manufacture with four specialist partners in Portugal and Spain, under EU labour law — though we don’t yet publish factory-level social audits, a gap we’ve flagged as a 2026 priority.
